Around the airwaves in 11 minutes

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Gees that was a world wind show! I felt like I was on that journey around the world in 80 days - except it was 11 minutes before I could get on the show.

I have no idea what went wrong. I called in as a host as usual 10 minutes before the scheduled time, so that I can chat with the guest and ensure that all sound levels are working fine. My guest came on as the show began, as the start up music finished I realized I had a problem when my guest could not hear me. I then kept asking if anyone in the chat room could hear and there was a resounding no. The chat room had listeners, there were callers on the phone lines.

Power of the Journey - Are you enjoying the ride?

Joy’n the JourneyIt is hard to believe it is December already!! Time sure does fly …

It is easy to get swept along at this time of year without taking time to reflect back on the past year. You are so busy with the holiday preparations and looking forward, that you forget to acknowledge all the wonderful things that have happened throughout the year.

We get so busy and involved in daily happenings and focusing on our destination, our goals, where we want to be instead of where we are right now.

Do you know someone who feels that everything will be okay just as soon as they find that new job, move to a new city, get that degree, find that soul mate, have a baby, renovate the house or reach any hundred of goals? Are you continually looking around the next corner?

Many times we chase down and set goals for ourselves and when they are accomplished, we think “Now what?”, instead of truly acknowledging who you are and who you became to accomplish this goal.

With all the new technology, emails, cell phones, and to do lists, life keeps moving at a fast pace we have great difficulty simply being in the moment.

  • Are you living your life in the fast lane?
  • Is your journey taking you down a bumpy road filled with potholes?
  • Are you on cruise control taking a Sunday drive with no particular destination in mind?
  • Stop and refuel your life today!

Merry, Merry Christmas

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

Seasons Greetings to all my viewers and listeners around the world. I just can’t believe another Christmas has come and gone. It seems like when I was young Christmas took an entire, painstaking, slow year to arrive, while nowadays it keeps coming around what seems like every three months. I just remember packing away the tree and decorations (yes in the caribbean trees are artificial)…. (more…)

Power of frustration - Transforming conflict into connection.

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

Cassandr RaeMy guest is author, inspirational speaker, and life coach Cassandra Rae. She works with parents and teens, who are frustrated, confused, and fearful about the future, who want to communicate better, fight less, connect more, and simply enjoy loving and respectful family relationships.

Thursday’s show is about finding the gold in the dirt. Using our emotions as a call to action by transforming conflict into connection.

Every feeling you have - good or bad - is based on your interpretation of what things mean.

You can feel anyway you choose at any moment in time. There is a message in every emotion, a signal, a call to action.

Your emotions tell you that what you are currently doing, is not working, is not giving you the desired results. Change your approach. Change your perception by asking better questions.

  • What is the message of frustration?
  • Where is the power in frustration?
  • Describe a current frustration in your life?
  • What need is not being met?
  • What are you willing to do about it?
  • Are you ready to transform your conflict into connection?

Join us on Thursday 13th at 8:00pm local Trini time or 7:00pmEST

How big is my But?

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

Well I had a show scheduled for tomorrow night, Breaking free from excuses - How big is your But? BUT my guest is horribly ill and unable to make it to our radio programme. When I started the show I had not intended for it to be an hour show of me talking solo, and made a promise to myself I would always have a guest speaker so that we can share the space and invite listeners in, BUT this was not to be…… (more…)
